GUNDAM-W: ENDLESS WALTZ (2000):

With the colonies at peace, tranquility has spread through the Earth. No longer needing their weapons of war; the Gundams are sent into the sun to be destroyed. But a high-ranking government official is kidnapped by a colony with aspirations of total domination! The pilots and their allies find themselves called to action once again. The endless waltz has begun...

AB Take: These are my holy texts.

GUNSMITH CATS (1995):

In the dangerous suburbs of Chicago, skilled bounty hunters Irene "Rally" Vincent and "Minnie" May Hopkins run Gunsmith Cats, a firearms store of questionable legality. One day, Bill Collins, an agent for the Chicago branch of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, blackmails Rally and May into working with him on a case. The stakes are high, but Rally’s gunmanship and May’s knowledge of explosives are unmatched, and they'll need ever bit of their skills when the secrets they unravel put them in the crosshairs of a ruthless assassin.

AB Take: This shit is the best. 14/10.

JIN ROH (1999):

The story is set in a parallel 1950s Japan, in which Germany has conquered Japan. It focuses on Kazuki Fuse, a member of the elite Kerberos Panzer Cops, a metropolitan anti-terror unit.

AB Take: Jarring and provoking. 10/10

BUBBLEGUM CRISIS TOKYO 2040 (1998):

Four young women gear up in cybernetic suits to battle an evil corporation’s bionic pawns while its grip on the city threatens to strangle humanity. In order to shut down an android uprising, these heavy metal heroines flirt with a critical meltdown in an adrenaline-fueled death match between woman and machine.

AB Take: Soundtrack rules.

MACROSS PLUS (1995):

Released in 1994, four-episode OVA. Timeline: 2040. The most focused and self-contained entry in the franchise: UN Spacy is conducting flight trials to select its next-generation Variable Fighter, and the finalists are piloted by two old rivals with axes to grind both in the air and on the ground. Pretty much Top Gun.

AB Take: Best animation in the entire Macross Franchise. Delightful.

PATLABOR 2 THE MOVIE (1993)

Tokyo, rush hour: the dead of winter. A terror strike from the air shatters the Bay Bridge. When news footage shows an unidentified F-16 fighter jet in the vicinity, the investigation takes a darker turn, as the cops of the Second Unit begin to trace the outlines of the shadowy military and political coalition behind the incident. But the conspiracy itself is out of control, and what began as a gesture is becoming a game where the peace, the freedom, and the very lives of the people of Tokyo are at stake.

AB Take: Just watch it. Absolute peak. 50/10
